New GTWoman Website Launched
AlphaGeek Web Design was hired by Grand Traverse Woman of Traverse City to design a new website and The Geeks are proud to announce that the completed project officially launched on December 12, 2007.
New features include a photo gallery, calendar of events, and event registration with online payment options. Membership in the GTWoman website is free and registered members can purchase event tickets, make advertising payments and buy subscriptions to the publication.
“The new site is much more interactive for members and first-time visitors,” said Kerry Winkler, co-publisher of Grand Traverse Woman. “We look forward to being an integral part of women getting to know each other through the GTWoman website."
Another new feature on the site is a GTWoman forum where registered users can login and participate in discussions about upcoming events, do some networking and exchange ideas.
"We're encouraging women to share with other members if they will be coming to the next event," added Kandace Chapple, co-publisher of Grand Traverse Woman. "We’re looking forward to feedback from participants on events they attended as well.”
The new website has video clips from the "Today’s Woman" segments which are aired on TV 7&4 the first and third Thursday of each month.
“Providing media is a great way for website visitors to get to know the ‘real you’,” stated Marcie Szczubelek, partner with AlphaGeek Web Design. “Kandace and Kerry both have great on-air presence and their personalities truly come through in the videos provided.”
The GTWoman website was created using the GeekGroup which is a content management product provided by AlphaGeek Web Design. All content is easily updated by the Grand Traverse Woman staff using an online editor.
“Grand Traverse Woman provides such an important service to the women in business that we’re proud to be part of this website project,” stated Cindy Dickson, partner with AlphaGeek Web Design. “Our goal was to provide their members with a professional place to communicate online and we know we’ve succeeded.”
